The perfect small electric car for the city

0

The smart EQ fortwo in a short test: “… that’s how we bring electric cars into town.”

Michael Brecht tested the smart EQ fortwo for a few days in downtown Augsburg. Electric cars are made for use in crowded city centres. Especially in the old town with its narrow alleys and winding squares, the smart EQ is perfect for use.

Hardly any other electric car is so suitable for use in the city. Accelerated to 60 km/h in just five seconds, manoeuvrable and all this with a range of 160 kilometres (according to NEDC). With the typical driving behaviour of city dwellers, reloading every 3-4 days is sufficient.

The smart EQ easily manages parking even in the tightest parking spaces or multi-storey car parks. And thanks to the delivery services of the retail trade, we no longer need a large trunk for shopping in the city. This is how mobility works on the last mile today.

What's your reaction?

I am interested in solutions for the challenges we face in urban mobility. With 75% of our population forecast to live in urban centres by 2050, we need smart mobility and logistics innovations to survive. Our platform aims to communicate about these global innovations in smart cities around the globe.
