IKEA and Renault launch car sharing cooperation in France

0

Renault and IKEA are driving car sharing in France. The mobility service provider Renault MOBILITY, a subsidiary of the Renault Group, and IKEA France have agreed a corresponding car sharing cooperation.
The common goal is to offer the customers of the furniture stores transport possibilities for their purchases around the clock and seven days a week. By September 2018, 300 Renault vehicles will be available in France. By 2020, the charging infrastructure at the furniture stores is also to be expanded to such an extent that the car sharing pool can be fully converted to electric vehicles.

In the past, the Billy Shelf was conveniently packed in cartons in the smallest trolleys. But if you want to buy the new kitchen from IKEA, you have to plan bigger. And this is exactly where the Swedes are working together with the French OEM. In future, the components of the kitchen, and of course all other purchases from Swedish furniture stores, can be brought home in a spacious Renault van.

The start of the car sharing cooperation was in Paris
The two have already started their car sharing cooperation in Paris. At IKEA’s Paris-Villiers branch, customers can for the first time transport their purchases conveniently and at favourable conditions using a Renault rental vehicle. The ZOE electric saloon, the Kangoo and Kangoo Z.E. compact vans and the Trafic transporter are available for particularly bulky loads.

The service is to be offered in 32 branches of the Swedish furniture specialist by September 2018. From 2020, the car sharing fleet is also to consist exclusively of electric vehicles.

The mobility service provider Renault MOBILITY is already represented throughout France with 180 car sharing vehicle fleets. The vehicles are available around the clock at Renault service centres, in city centres and in public car parks. Depending on the vehicle you choose, you can rent the vehicles from seven euros per hour including insurance and 100 free kilometres.

Another innovation in Paris, after the recently reported launch of Zify, the carpooling specialist in the French capital, here’s the article.
