Mercedes me Explore Sylt – is the new mobility and service offer from Mercedes-Benz that combines electric mobility with exclusive services. The Stuttgart-based company is now starting a pilot project on 1 June 2018 with a fleet of 25 Mercedes-Benz and smart fortwo EQ vehicles on the Germans’ favourite island: on Sylt.
Explore Sylt helps the local islanders and their visitors to make their mobility on site environmentally friendly. With numerous local partners from the tourism, transport, sports and leisure and gastronomy sectors, the Explore Sylt mobility platform offers access to very special services and offers and is tailored to the needs of a wide variety of target groups.
The online platform offers an overview of all electric mobility services and other services as well as their availability and prices. All services can be booked simply and easily and invoiced via the platform. In addition, interested parties receive event news, weather information and current content from the partners involved. Just in time for the start of the 2018 holiday season, a total of 25 electric vehicles from Mercedes-Benz and smart will be available from June to ensure the mobility of residents and visitors on the island without emissions. Via Explore Sylt, vehicles can easily be hired online at the desired location at the desired time. The vehicles are available for collection at three Explore Sylt Centres (at Westerland railway station, Sylt airport and Insel Sylt Tourismus Service GmbH in Strandstraße in Westerland).

Explore Sylt was developed in cooperation with ACT AGENCY Hamburg and Insel Sylt Tourismus-Service GmbH (ISTS). Act Agency is an owner-managed marketing company from Hamburg and a long-standing organizer of the Mercedes-Benz Windsurf World Cup with close ties to the island of Sylt Tourism Service and the Mercedes-Benz brand. This new form of digital booking possibilities for tourism on Sylt is interesting.
Through cooperation with local event organisers, Mercedes me App users have access to some exclusive event elements. “Mercedes-Benz is continuously expanding its position as a leading brand for mobility solutions. We are developing new business models to inspire our existing customers and to introduce new customers and prospects to the brand,” says Georg Abel, Head of Sales Service at Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales Germany.
